K-Garden is a residential project located in the resort complex Chaika near Varna, Bulgaria. The character of the area as a zone on the periphery of the city determines the emphasis of the design on tranquility, comfort and privacy. As a result, the architecture is distinctly extroverted, outward-looking and nature-oriented, which is also extended vertically through vegetation on the terraces.
Due to the linear shape of the property and the client's program, the building is positioned along the length of the site as a horizontal recumbent body. To avoid monotony and visual overload, the original volume was divided into four prisms, each translated backwards. This contributes to a lighter perception of the volume and frees the terrain for a large garden space. The garden appears as a natural extension of the surrounding picturesque nature.
The facade design is clean, with a distinct horizontality and lightness that is seemingly uncharacteristic of such a substantial body of architecture. A contact façade is used for the walls, whose graphite palette helps the white lines of the granite façade framing the building to stand out, becoming the main architectural accent. The large glazing adds to the connection between interior and exterior and contributes to the lightness of the architecture.
K-Garden strives to create an environment that provides amenities and positively influences its context.
